How to purchase the eBook or download for free
Corona Renderer 7 was released on 21 July 2021, while the Cinema 4D version was ready on 4th August, 2021. Before writing this update, I tested this new version extensively over the past few months. And thanks to the supervision of Chaos Czech, the result is a 100 pages, high definition eBook (300 DPI). 50 pages are dedicated to the update, while the remaining pages come from the demo version. eBook Corona Renderer 7
The upgrade is free for customers of the printed guide: buy the eBook using the same account and email used for the physical book purchase, typing the coupon code “free_corona_renderer_7_update” checkout to change the price to free (Fig. 01). Once the order is confirmed, the eBook and related files can be downloaded from the DOWNLOAD page of your account. If you buy the print version after the release of our update, the eBook is included in the package.
In the DOWNLOAD page of your account you will receive two files. The first is a compressed file containing 3D scenes (Fig. 02), material libraries and animations. Below is a complete list of the contents.
- Ch12_01_CoronaPhysicalMtl – Presets.mp4
- Ch12_02_Corona_Material_Library – New shaders.mp4
- Ch12_03_Corona_Sky_PRG_Clear_Sky – Beauty.mp4
- Ch12_04_Corona_Sky_PRG_Clear_Sky – Emission.mp4
The second file in the DOWNLOAD page of your account is the eBook in PDF format. Thanks to its practical bookmarks, navigation will be quick and easy (Fig. 03).

THE CORONA PHYSICAL MATERIAL
The chapter on CoronaPhysicalMtl begins with an in-depth comparison of CoronaMtl (renamed CoronaLegacyMtl in Corona Renderer 7) and CoronaPhysicalMtl. I continue by exploring the Presets located in the CoronaPhysicalMtl shader. From this point on I explain all the parameters of CoronaPhysicalMtl through examples and detailed analysis. In the first section of the eBook we study Metal and Non-metal materials (Fig. 04).

Next I analyze Thin shell (no inside) and the differences with CoronaLegacyMtl. I then move on to explaining transparency in the new CoronaPhysicalMtl and the generation of plastic/glass materials (Fig. 05).
I then begin a detailed study of the Clearcoat parameter group and analyze the Amount, IOR, Color, Roughness (Fig. 06), Absorption and Bump parameters. eBook Corona Renderer 7
Next, I move on to the analysis of the Layer Sheen parameters (Fig. 07).
The CoronaPhysicalMtl chapter ends with a tutorial on caustics and anisotropy (Fig. 08).
Below is a preview of the animation of the CoronaPhysicalMtl Presets and new shaders I created for you (Fig. 09).

CORONA MATERIAL LIBRARY
With the introduction of the new CoronaPhysicalMtl shader, the Corona Material Library has undergone integrations and improvements: a new category called Masonry was created, and new CoronaPhysicalMtl materials added to the Metals and Wood categories. In the eBook I generated renders of all new Masonry materials, created a new scene and a pleasant animation (Fig. 10, Fig 11). eBook Corona Renderer 7

PRG Clear Sky: THE NEW CORONASKY
The CoronaSky map, already good in Corona Renderer version 6, has been further enhanced. The Improved model was renamed PRG Clear Sky, and now supports the Turbidity parameter. Two new tools were also added: Altitude (Fig. 12) and Volume Effect.
Fig. 12 – The Altitude parameter of the CoronaSky map.
I analyze each new parameter introduced with the new model of CoronaSky in detail using a 3D file of a vast mountain range. Dozens of new renderings and two 3D animations have been produced (Fig. 13, Fig. 14), allowing you to see CoronaSky v7 in action. eBook Corona Renderer 7
OPTIMIZATION AND SPEED
Corona Renderer 7 introduces a number of optimizations, and the combination of all these effects can reduce rendering time between 6% and 50%, depending on the type of scene. In our eBook, I discussed all the major improvements (Fig. 15).
