Re: [ INTERIOR ] - Bathroom

WOW ! Nothing more to say, I guess.. ;-) Please, say, did you render with the displacement in the towels in that big resolution in one take ? And how much was the render time ? I used you´re tip on the displacemodifier. Thanks for that. But my machine isn´t strong enough for a whole shot with 3200x2...

Re: [ INTERIOR ] - Hotel Room

Ciao, Cecofuli, thanks for the tip. Works good for me, with 3GB (out of 4) now. But still it seems like a heavy workload for the machine and I´ll upgrade to 64Bit soon. I know it´s a tough question, but would you be so kind to shed some light on your render settings for that specific scene ? Or will...

Re: [ INTERIOR ] - Hotel Room

Looking really great, cecofuli ! As always it´s amazing how much you can squeeze out of the textures. How do you render the carpets ? By using a displacement in the bump slot or by using the modifier on the geometry ? And how much RAM is in your machine ? I never get solid results with the Bump slot...

Re: [INTERIOR] - Sofa

Well, think I´m on the right path getting to know it. Although I still wish I could get my images crisper in terms of contrast. But overall, yeah, it works for me. It´s basically about taking care of all image data going through Max using a gamma of 2.2. So the bitmaps you use come in with 2.2, you ...

Re: [INTERIOR] - Sofa

I think you can presume he works in a LWF.
I´m stunned by the crispness of the textures, too. But I think it´s only one piece of the puzzle, to have optimized bump maps. The combination of image sampling and IR calculating must be others.
Are you a fan of the delone triangulation, cecofuli ? ;)

Hello, cecofuli !

I´d like to pre-order the book, too, if that´s possible.
It´s hard to wait another month...

Re: [INTERIOR] - Sofa

ciao, cefuli !
 If I needed proof Vray can do bumps, now you showed me and got me looking at the images with my jaws dropped down. Fantastico !
Will I get the chance to learn the magic of bumps in your book, too ?

Bye
